Hey - I’m Ash
Owner, Lead Wedding Dog Attendant and Director of Belly Rubs (totally a legit title!)
It’s hard to believe that nine years ago, I was struggling to figure out how to include my own dog in my wedding day. The wedding itself went off without a hitch, but afterward, I couldn’t shake the feeling that there had to be a better way for couples to celebrate with their dogs - without the stress, logistics, and last-minute scrambling. Planning a wedding is already a marathon, and adding a beloved pup into the mix can make it feel like a full-blown triathlon.
That’s why I built Black Dog Weddings, to create the wedding-day experience I wish had existed for me. My love for dogs and weddings is woven into everything I do, from carefully curating stress-free experiences for couples and their pups to assembling a team of compassionate, knowledgeable dog lovers. As a Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid certified instructor, I take safety as seriously as I take fun, ensuring that every dog we care for is in the best hands. Nothing makes me happier than working alongside amazing couples and talented wedding professionals to bring wedding dreams to life!
When I’m not wrangling wedding-day pups, you’ll find me keeping busy…because relaxing isn’t exactly my strong suit. Whether I’m spending time with our very large mutt, Morgan (Black Dog’s beloved spokesdog!), deep-diving into various historical topics, learning to garden, or tackling property renovations, I’m always up for the next adventure.

I have grown up having dogs all my life. I bring lots of love for the pups to the team and lots of experience with all different breeds and temperaments. I have worked with people my entire professional career and bring great social skills to the team! I am an upbeat dog-loving person, who will love your dog as my own for the time they are in my care.
I currently have 3 cats (I know eye roll) but waiting to get the dog of my dreams when we have a big backyard to give them and a not-so-hectic work schedule! My dream breed would be a Frenchie or a Bernese Mountain Dog!

For the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a dog sitter but I also have experience in customer service. I’ve been around a plethora of different breeds with different personalities and different needs. It’s safe to say that helping people and dogs alike is a passion of mine.
I hope that you remember Black Dog Weddings alleviating as much stress and worry as possible when it comes to your big day. It’s my wish that you felt confident and assured that your precious pup was safe in our care and that you look back on the experience as a positive one.
Other fun facts about me, my love of animals extends far beyond dogs!
I love cats as well, I volunteer with the Toronto Cat Rescue and play volleyball.

I’m a dog trainer who speaks fluent helicopter dog mom (yes, you—don’t worry). I have worked with both balanced and force-free trainers across various facilities, including training, boarding, daycare, board & train programs, and rescue work. I cater to you and your dog's needs with joy and respect.
I’ve worked with a boatload (Noah’s Ark-type of boat) of different breeds, sizes, temperaments, and health conditions. Your pup’s comfort is my priority—I stay attentive and rely on my dog-related knowledge to keep them safe and happy. My job is to put your dog’s needs first on your special day, AND I will 100% pull out a lint roller for any humans who need it.
I have a passion for photography, so I guarantee you’ll love the pupdates and behind-the-scenes photos I send at the end of the wedding day (courtesy of my hopefully good enough iPhone camera quality).
I also train in dog sports and personal protection with my dog and others at my day job facility—ask me about it!

In the wedding world, I’m what we call “a second” - the extra set of hands (and extra pocket full of treats) when multiple pups are part of the big day. As Ash’s husband, I’ve been roped into…uh, I mean, proudly joined…the wedding dog attendant world, bringing my deep knowledge of hunting dogs, thanks to a childhood spent in Grey Bruce County with a family of avid hunters and trappers. As an introvert with a keen eye for detail, I bring a steady, calm presence to the excitement of a wedding day - making sure every pup is happy, comfortable, and photo-ready.

I’m a mom to many fur babies including 4 beautiful dogs and 7 gorgeous cats. My pack includes 3 rescue dogs from China who are all different breeds and temperaments, which has given me the skills and experience needed to comfort and care for animals.
After working as a nanny for 6 years, I launched my own business, Nanny Breezy, where I now devote my time to caring for animals through services such as dog walking and pet sitting.
I have over 20 years experience working in hospitality services and some of my fondest memories are of the weddings I managed. I’m so grateful now that I can bring the magic of weddings together with my passion for animals.

I have a couple years of hands-on dog experience with doggie daycares, walks, and in-both-our-homes boarding. In addition, I have extensive training in both pet and human first aid. I can handle your biggest dog (think 150lb Newfoundland who doesn't want to go home just yet!) to your tiniest pup. I’m also experienced in guiding guests and children in ways that keep your pup comfortable and happy- it's a skill I use every day in my weekday job!"
I currently have a cat and senior pup, and my dream Beauceron puppy will hopefully be coming home with me in 2026!

I’m a dog mom to two Labs who, let’s be real, completely run my life.
One has been calling the shots for a decade, and the other joined three years ago as the final piece of our family’s chaos. When I was planning my own wedding, Black Dog Weddings was a lifesaver - because, let’s face it, I had enough to stress about without wondering if my dogs were sneaking cake #lablife. Now, I have the absolute pleasure of helping other couples include their dogs in the most seamless, stylish, and (most importantly) stress-free way possible! Because let’s be honest, they deserve nothing less.

I’m a proud dog mom to Winston, my rescue pup, and a cat named Toast. As a certified helicopter dog (and cat!) mom, I know firsthand how much we want everything to be just right for our pups - especially on a big day like a wedding! After seeing Ash in action behind the scenes at photoshoots over the years…including this awesome photo from my very own engagement photoshoot…I knew Black Dog Weddings was something special. Every couple deserves to be fully present on their wedding day, knowing their dog is safe, happy, and cared for.
