Ash
Ontario wide
Owner, Lead Wedding Dog Attendant and Director of Belly Rubs (totally a legit title!)
Hi, I’m Ash. I’m based just north of London and travel throughout Southwestern Ontario and the Niagara region for weddings (I genuinely love a good road trip!). I approach wedding-day dog care with structure, compassion and deep respect for the role dogs play in their people’s lives.
After my own wedding day, I realized there was a massive gap in the wedding industry - the role and experience I wished I’d had for my dog on my wedding day simply didn’t exist. Black Dog Weddings was created to fill that space with thoughtful, professional care that keeps a dog’s wellbeing at the center of every decision.
It’s hard to choose a favourite wedding-day moment, but the first time a dog sees their pawrents always stays with me. It’s candid, emotional, and completely unscripted. My approach is grounded in formal training as a Walks N Wags–certified pet first aid instructor, many many years of dog ownership and working with dog rescue, and a healthcare background as an EEG Technologist working extensively in trauma, stroke, and epilepsy care - experience that shapes how I assess comfort, safety and wellbeing on a wedding day.
When I’m not working weddings, I’m with my 110lb senior supermutt, Morgan, getting the latest scoop on Formula 1 racing, dabbling with floral design or getting distracted by history books and vintage finds.
Maddi
Kitchener, Waterloo + Cambridge
I’m Maddi and I primarily serve the KW and Cambridge area! As a lifelong animal lover I always knew that I’d end up working with dogs! I’ve now been involved with professional pet care - from dog and cat sitting to boarding to walking to wedding dog attendant-ing - for over 5 years now and have no plans of stopping. Some of my other adventures with animals include volunteering with a cat rescue and also being a foster dog mom!
I’m the proud pet parent of Leroy the dog and Mikey the cat (both of whom are also redheads). Wanting to give Leroy the best quality of life that I could really ignited my interest in dog behaviour, psychology, and training. I always enjoy learning more and reviewing the literature and science on best practices for dog care and well-being.
On wedding days, safety and top-notch care are always my #1 priority. I pride myself on being your dog’s friend and advocate on your big day, and working intentionally to anticipate and meet their needs. I love when I’m able to help couples create meaningful moments with their pups and also help the pups enjoy their time as much as possible during the celebrations! Heading into my 3rd season with Black Dog, I’m really looking forward to all the incredible dogs, couples, and weddings that I’ll encounter!
In addition to wedding-day care, Maddi also offers in-home overnight dog care for families local to the KW and Cambridge area.
Safiya
Kitchener, Waterloo + Cambridge
I’m a dog trainer who speaks fluent helicopter dog mom (yes, you—don’t worry). I have worked with both balanced and force-free trainers across various facilities, including training, boarding, daycare, board & train programs, and rescue work. I cater to you and your dog's needs with joy and respect.
I’ve worked with a boatload (Noah’s Ark-type of boat) of different breeds, sizes, temperaments, and health conditions. Your pup’s comfort is my priority—I stay attentive and rely on my dog-related knowledge to keep them safe and happy. My job is to put your dog’s needs first on your special day, AND I will 100% pull out a lint roller for any humans who need it.
I have a passion for photography, so I guarantee you’ll love the pupdates and behind-the-scenes photos I send at the end of the wedding day (courtesy of my hopefully good enough iPhone camera quality).
I also train in dog sports and personal protection with my dog and others at my day job facility—ask me about it!
Let’s get a ball of fur off your back and onto mine on your wedding day :) Cheers!
Victoria
Hamilton + Burlington
I have been trusted with people’s fur babies for over five years now, to the point where one of my regular pups sometimes refuses to leave. Occasionally, his pawrents call me his second mom, and I wear that honorary title with pride. When your dog is with me, you can expect thoughtful, personalized attention for your pup, no matter the age, size, temperament, and need.
Before becoming a wedding dog attendant, I spent time working at two event venues that regularly hosted weddings, where I supported service, timelines, and the behind-the-scenes flow. While I loved being part of such meaningful celebrations, I am beyond excited to trade wine service for leashes and take on a far more unFURgettable role this wedding season.
I bring a warm, attentive presence, strong people skills, and a genuine love for animals, ensuring your pup feels safe, comfortable, and beautifully included while you soak in every moment of your day. Your dog will be cared for as if they were my own.
In addition to wedding-day care, Victoria also offers in-home overnight dog care for families local to the Hamilton and Burlington area
Bree
Burlington + Hamilton Region
I’m a mom to many fur babies including 4 beautiful dogs and 8 gorgeous cats. My pack includes 3 rescue dogs from China who are all different breeds and temperaments, which has given me the skills and experience needed to comfort and care for animals.
After working as a nanny for 6 years, I launched my own business, Nanny Breezy, where I now devote my time to caring for animals through services such as dog walking and pet sitting.
I have over 20 years experience working in hospitality services and some of my fondest memories are of the weddings I managed. I’m so grateful now that I can bring the magic of weddings together with my passion for animals.
Much love ❤
Cassie
Niagara + Hamilton Region
Hi, I’m Cassie! I proudly serve the Niagara/Hamilton region and was born and raised in Welland. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to work with dogs, and that passion has shaped my entire career.
Over the past 5 years I’ve continued to build my experience in the pet industry. I’ve even had the opportunity to work alongside a dog trainer and behaviouralist, which has helped me develop a strong understanding of canine behaviour, handling, and care in a variety of environments!
I currently work as a veterinary assistant, as well as being part of one of the top dog daycare facilities in the Niagara region, that has actually worked with Black Dog Weddings in the past. Bringing dogs to weddings is the perfect combination of my love for animals and helping couples include their best friend in one of the most important days of their lives.
Weddings can be overwhelming for dogs, but I am good at recognizing early signs of nervousness or overstimulation in a pup. This helps me calmly redirect shy or anxious behaviours before they escalate! Dogs also tend to warm up to me very quickly, which will in turn help me build trust with both the pup and the wedding couple, allowing both parties to feel safe, confident, and relaxed throughout their special day!
If I’m not at one of my jobs working with dogs, or at home with my Labrador Retriever Lincoln, you can find me at the barn working with horses.
I can’t wait to work with you and your pups to make your wedding day memorable!
Kelcie
London + Cambridge
Hi, I’m Kelcie! Caring for dogs isn’t just my job- it’s a huge part of my life and who I am.
I’m currently in my second season working in the wedding world, with a strong background in animal care and a focus on keeping every pup comfortable, safe, and happy throughout the day. I understand how important it is that your dog feels calm, loved, and well looked after while being part of such a meaningful moment.
When I’m not caring for clients’ dogs, I’m usually spending time with my own furchildren. We love hanging out in the kitchen trying new recipes and getting outside as much as possible, especially to the beach. It’s an honor to care for your fur family and help make your wedding day stress-free and memorable for everyone involved.
London + Surrounding Area
Great to meet you! I’m Alexandra, proud dog mom to Jake, my 11-year-old cockapoo and the true heart behind everything I do. My husband and I spend most of our time at the lake, and our favourite way to travel is hiking mountains, soaking up cottage life, and chasing peaceful moments in nature, always with dogs at the centre of it all.
I have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, and I recently launched my business, Wags, Tails & Trails, offering loving dog walking, dog sitting, and personalized pet care. Every dog I meet reminds me that they all carry a little human spirit, full of loyalty, love, and joy.
Getting the opportunity to create beautiful wedding-day memories where a dog is part of the celebration is truly the most meaningful part of what I do. Making sure your pup is included in your special moment, walking down the aisle, greeting guests, and leaving their paw prints on your love story is an absolute honour.

Sarah
London + Surrounding Area
Hi! I’m Sarah! I’m a crazy dog lady and dog mom to two Labs who, let’s be real, completely run my life. One has been calling the shots for a decade, and the other joined four years ago as the final piece of our family’s chaos. When I was planning my own wedding, Black Dog Weddings was a lifesaver - because, let’s face it, I had enough to stress about without wondering if my dogs were sneaking cake. Now, I have the absolute pleasure of helping other couples include their dogs in the most seamless, stylish, and(most importantly) stress-free way possible. Because let’s be honest, they deserve nothing less!
“My husband and I really wanted to include our dog Jasper in a meaningful way on our wedding day. He is a big part of our lives, but we didn’t want to stress about who was looking after him during the day and who would be responsible for getting him to and from the wedding venue. We were so happy to see that Black Dog Weddings existed and was offering exactly what we needed for our day! Ash was awesome to work with, super adaptable and able to customize her services to provide us with all the support we were looking for. She was very thorough in creating the detailed timeline of events for our dog and we loved seeing the pupdate at the end of the day! Thank you so much Ash, Jasper had the best day with you.”
