Hey - I’m Ash
Owner, Lead Wedding Dog Attendant and Director of Belly Rubs (totally a legit title!)
It’s hard to believe that nine years ago I struggled to incorporate my dog into my wedding day. Thankfully the wedding went off without a hitch but after I reflected on the experience and realized I didn’t want to see another dog-loving couple put in the same position as me. Planning a wedding is a marathon and can start to feel like a triathlon when you have to consider the complexities and care factors associated when including your beloved dog on your wedding day.
Since then, I’ve carefully curated the dog wedding day experience I wish existed nine years ago and my love and passion for dogs and weddings are very evident in everything that I do, including building a team of equally compassionate dog lovers. It continues to be an honour and pleasure to care for a variety of dogs in all life stages, working with amazing couples and extremely talented wedding professionals to make your wedding dreams come to life!
In my downtime, I enjoy a variety of activities (because relaxing isn’t really my jam) including spending quality time with our very large mutt, Morgan (Black Dog’s beloved spokesdog!), deep diving into various history subjects, learning to garden and renovating our property.

I have grown up having dogs all my life. I bring lots of love for the pups to the team and lots of experience with all different breeds and temperaments. I have worked with people my entire professional career and bring great social skills to the team! I am an upbeat dog-loving person, who will love your dog as my own for the time they are in my care.
I currently have 3 cats (I know eye roll) but waiting to get the dog of my dreams when we have a big backyard to give them and a not-so-hectic work schedule! My dream breed would be a Frenchie or a Bernese Mountain Dog!

For the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a dog sitter but I also have experience in customer service. I’ve been around a plethora of different breeds with different personalities and different needs. It’s safe to say that helping people and dogs alike is a passion of mine.
I hope that you remember Black Dog Weddings alleviating as much stress and worry as possible when it comes to your big day. It’s my wish that you felt confident and assured that your precious pup was safe in our care and that you look back on the experience as a positive one.

I love cats as well, I volunteer with the Toronto Cat Rescue and play volleyball.

I’m currently studying at Animal Behaviour College and have worked with trainers, rescues, daycare, and boarding facility. This has allowed me to experience a boatload (Noah's arc type of boat) of different breeds, size, health issues, and temperaments. As well as people haha... I speak helicopter dog mom fluently. I ensure your pup’s comfort by staying attentive, relying on all dog-related things I am educated on to keep them safe and happy. Putting the dog first and fulfilling their needs rather than anyone else’s (rowdy kids wanting to pet), making sure they get all the love, water, and shade. You’ll love the pupdates and behind-the-scenes photos I will send you at the end of the wedding day.
